About ten years ago, MAD Magazine ran an article called "Future Dan Quayle Quotes We Can Expect to Hear." Several of the quotes on the "Things People Said" page come from thhat, and not from real Dan Quayle quotes! Gasp! A journalistic scandal!

I'm searching frantically for the magazine, but the ones I'm sure of offhand are:

"It isn't pollution that's harming the environment. It's the impurites in our air and water that are doing it."

"Our party has been accused of fooling the public by calling tax increases 'revenue enhancement.' Not so. No one was fooled."

"People are not homeless if they're sleeping in the streets of their own hometowns."

"Air travel efficency would improve if more people started going to less popular places."

"A low voter turnout is an indication of fewer people going to the polls."

I'll try to find the magazine, but I'm pretty sure those are the only ones.
