*shrug* Same reason why I live 30 miles from one of the most active earthquake faults in the world, I expect. Because every area has its gives and takes, and you just... live with it. In my case, it's not too bad... we haven't had a BIG quake since 1989, but we get little ones every so often. One lives with it.
