Maybe not as attractive an idea as you might think:

. In this elegant chamber, adorned with chandeliers, regal tapestries and a luxurious rug, you feel like a princess in a fairy tale. Kelly is here, bowed on one knee before you. He presents a beautiful ring for your inspection and asks, "Will you marry me?"
* Say, "Are you *kidding* me? You're not serious, are you?"
p Kelly's face assumes a perplexed expression and he says, hesitantly, "Um...yes, I *am* serious...um, so will you marry me or not?"
* Say, "I can't *believe* this! I just can't BELIEVE this! Are you SERIOUS??"
p Kelly's face assumes a perplexed expression and he says, hesitantly, "Um...yes, I *am* serious...um, so will you marry me or not?"
* Say, "Oh, my god. Oh, my god. Oh, my g-...are you *serious*?"
p Kelly's face assumes a perplexed expression and he says, hesitantly, "Um...yes, I *am* serious...um, so will you marry me or not?"

I guess you'd be tempted to add in a clear, definitive "yes" or "no" response, but really, if you want to make a good adventure game these days, you need to be as realistic as possible and create the suspension of disbelief. And how realistic would it be if the whole simulated proceedings weren't awkward and confusing in the extreme for the male of the species? ;-)
