Yesterday evening my bank phoned me up to offer some new services/accounts/freebies or whatever it was...

Anyway, the telesales woman asked me if I still banked at a particular branch and I said no, I've moved to Grays. She asked how that was spelt and I told her. I could hear her tapping her keyboard to enter that in. A few seconds later she said, "Um, I'm sorry, my PC seems to have frozen, I can't enter the details."

At this point I should say I am an IT support tech by trade as quite a few Rinkydinks will know, having had tech support from me in chat!

So I said, "Is this Windows?"
"Yes."
"Wait for it a while, it may be refreshing the screen."
"OK... No, nothing's happening"
"Is the mouse still moving?"
"Um, no"
"Well, press control Alt delete then. Oh, by the way, I'm a computer engineer, I do this sort of thing all day."
"Oh good, bet you didn't count on doing it at home, eh?"
"No, but what the heck."
"Um, still nothing happening"
"No little window comes up with a list of active applications?"
"No... don't see one."
"Ok, have to power it off then."
"Oh, alright, er, can we call you back next week about our new services?"
"Yeah, sure, 'bye!"
"Oh, lovely! Thanks, bye!"

I put the phone down and immediately dissolved into fits of laughter. That was one of the weirdest turnarounds of a situation I have ever had. I feel like sending them a bill for my services.
