I tend to feel that this is an attitude that she has inherited off someone. I don't think that babies are born with anything other than curiosity, and at some stage, while playing with some form of insect, a sibling/parent has screamed at them to not touch it. This reinforces a belief that bugs are bad/scary, and is probably compounded by seeing others behave in the same way.
