I haven't played chess in 30 years, so I need help with this question:
How many pawns does a chess set have? I bought a wood set to go with an antique board that I have, and I found seven light colored pawns and six dark ones. Am I short one or do I have a spare?
I can't even remember how to set up the board to play. Logic tells me that there should be an even number of pawns. I sure hope it isn't eight.
