As a teenager, I played in my church's handbell choir too. It wasn't the sort of thing I'd have tried, being a reclufus doosive, but Mom in her wisdom pushed me into it and I ended up really enjoying it. My denomination holds an annual Teen Talent competition, and for several years running our teen handbell choir won every round up to the nationals, mostly by default: hardly any other churches owned a set of handbells.
