Ah...Chicago is a distant memory to me (I'm in Rome right now) but calder does rule and chicagoans do have a strange fascination with van gogh. Did you see the neo classicism room with all those beautiful statues? I particularly love the one of the blind girl from Pompeii, very nice. It's too bad you didn't get to see the Museum of contemporary art in chicago, which is equally awesome. (I mean that in the sense of awe-inspiring in a non bill and ted type of way). Anywho, I'd like to take this time to mention that I'm moving to Florence the moment I turn 18 and I will visit the Uffizi gallery every day and then go to the academy which is famous for housing David but has also Michelangelo's unfinished statues from Pope Julius' tomb which I much prefer to David. And on the weekends I'll go to all the little towns in tuscany and my life will be perfect.
