I'm not a serious movie buff, so I certainly don't have as many films to suggest as other people do... but I have a few. I second the mentions of Ever After and Contact, and I'd also like to throw in the rather obscure, but in my mind excelled animated movie The Last Unicorn. I adore that movie.

I'd also add a VERY obscure movie version of the novel The Scarlet Pimpernel... I have no idea who is in it, but it's an incredible, excellent portrayal of the novel. It's fantastic and one of my favorite movies.
