The surgery went well -- better than expected. There was more swelling visible than the doctors were expecting, but the blood clot was easier to reach and easier to remove than expected, and the swelling was already going down by the time she was being stitched up at the end of the procedure.

Because the surgery was less invasive than expected, it would appear that the potential best case outcome is brighter. There will be a right side deficit, but it remains to be seen how severe that might be and how long it might last. (Also still a question is her ability to create speech, which will be an unknown at least until she's off the ventilator.)

Needless to say, I'm a lot more encouraged with this news than I was earlier in the night. Thanks yet again for the continued prayers and support.
