A dirt dobber is a type of hornet that builds nests in the ground. I know they're very abundant in the Southwest United States, but I'm not sure about anywhere else.

Something tells me Howard might have a good story about dirt dobbers. Or could at least conjure one up for us. :)

What about armadillos and horned toads (a.k.a horny toads)? Ever heard of those?
