What fascinated me the most is the difference in emphasis. Here is Aachen the really insignificant earthquake is top news and the other thing is just a funny annecdote on the side to smile at.

But in America (!!!) that small anecdote make top news. OTH1H this might increase the "Aachen awereness" within the Amrrican population, OTOH I am not sure whether it is necessarily a good thing, ie. to be known in such a context context :-)
