I've never eaten chips/fries/pommes frites with vinegar, so I can't comment on that; but a combination of mozzarella, balsamico (a kind of vinegar, I don't know whether it's called that wherever each of you is), tomatoes, basilicum (?) and olive oil is one of the best things there are.

I've never tried chips dipped in milkshake, neither the former nor the latter type. I can recommend tzatziki to go with them, though.
