Hail Thee,

> Hmmmmmmmmmm. Well, maybe, but if you are standing *between* two people, you can't be one of them.

Illustrative examples are almost as wonderful a tool as a handcrafted statistics :) If you have to choose between 10 people numbered 1 to 10 you might well be one of them. Me, I would stand at position number 10, so that I would definitely choose myself.

Whilst it would definitely not be easy to be the rock or the hard place, you can certainly be (sprawled) on the rock :-) Problem is you would also be quite flat ....

> I think you are looking at it with a math mind,

Definitely. That is, BTW, the reason why polls with 100.4% positive votes will catch my interest 11 times out of 10. But I might be drifting slightly off topic and into cheesburgers here.

Heh, I was actually about to go into mathematical interval notation in my first reply, but caught myself in time :) My basic reasoning : if I get that the slightest bit wrong, in a forum where I am a toal newby,I'll very likely and up between a rock and a hard place.
