Ahhh, I LOVE that book! It's one of my favorites too. A tip: Get the unabridged version if you can. I've read both versions, and only the unabridged truly shows the rich complexity of the plot. Another great book by Dumas is The Three Musketeers, another favorite of mine.

Another very, very good one. I love the book and I also adore an obscure movie version of it to death. ;)

Ditto. I still need to get the newest one, The Skies of Pern... *grumbles about the library not having ANYTHING* I also enjoy the Acorna books (co-written with someone whose name I can't recall), the series that starts with The Rowan, and the brainship stories (starts with The Ship who Sang).

I would also throw in a particular series by Christopher Stasheff... his Wizard in Rhyme books. Fun fantasy stories, very enjoyable. I'd also recommend anything by Madeline L'Engle. If you don't mind reading shorter books that are still fun, Patricia C. Wrede's series that starts with Dealing With Dragons is a really fun read. And of course, my favorite book, Peter S. Beagle's The Last Unicorn.
