I would have to say 2... I have an extremely vivid imagination, and I am quite capable of providing scenery of my own... :) This is not to say that I don't like games with graphics; on the contrary, I adore good gaming eye candy. :) But for the particular style of game mentioned above, I will go with #2.

Of course, I have to admit at times I am also interested in seeing images - apart from the game or whatever - that show what the game creator's artistic vision was. Even if they don't live up to *my* expectations, I'm always curious to see what they themselved think about what they have made. Part of my fascination with the creative process. That's also why I love looking at concept art for things... today, at the museum, I got to see a LOT of concept art for the movie 2001. That was cool. I love seeing how things change, and stay the same, as the imagination works!

Kind of a slight topic shift there towards the end, but... oh well. :)
