Just get a world map or globe. Keep in mind that time zones are normally 15 degrees wide and center on every 15th meridian. Eastern Time is centered on the 75th meridan, Central on the 90th, Mountain on the 105th, Pacific on the 120th. You can count around the world in either direction and determine the time difference between any two locations. It's easier than it sounds, but don't trip over the International Date Line, or Day Light Saving Time. I taught this stuff to 7th and 8th graders with a reasonable success rate.
