To me, that sounds just like Adventure Games Live.
In Fantasy Quest at the point where I am, it says:

*You're Carrying:*
Sack, Rope, Branch, Silver Key, Sword, Diamond, Shovel, Hammer, Nails, Bow, Arrow, Jewel, Club, and Ticket.

When I select "Rope" and press OK, it gives me the following:

"The rope is an inch or so thick and fifty feet long, at least. It's heavy."

Whoa.
