Since it's a normal style and not a rainbow-striped mohawk, I guess it interests people according to the extent to which it changed your appearance. It obviously changed your whole look enough to fascinate people. If all their comments have been discussion and debate rather than outright "WHOA! You have become an INTERNATIONAL SUPERMODEL!" or "Ewwww, somebody make it go AWAY!", my guess is that it's just fascination with how different the new style makes you look.
