You wouldn't need to if they tried out that plan of moving the Earth. Unless they work out how to keep the Moon in its orbit and move that too, there goes a rather important part of the neighbourhood.

Personally, I think it would be *great* if there were a few more deranged comic-book villains out there with Master Plans. The only trouble is you need the kick-butt high-tech action heroes to balance them, and science has been woefully inadequate in supplying THOSE to the real world at the same rate. I blame improved safety standards in the scientific world. Nobody's getting bitten by radioactive lab animals anymore.
