Before, it was exciting. . one guy would have a faster car than another and it would be an actual race. Now, they all perform pretty much identically which means you have to be real lucky to pass. lame, IMHO. I don't have a problem with standardizing performance if it's a test of driver skills, but going around in circles is not terribly hard once you've done it a few times. If they wanna have everyone driving the same car, then they should get away from the oval track and more into a roadrace type. . . otherwise, let 'em go to town on making their car fast so it gets interesting again!

That's what Mark Martin has been trying to tell them for years. I wonder if they should just reduce displacements and allow a boost like on the Indy cars. At least they could pass.

They raced on a one mile dirt oval that doubled as a horse track. I can't remember who won, but the drivers included Richard Petty's daddy, Buddy Baker's daddy and guys like Glenn Roberts and Joe Weatherly. Dale Jarrett's daddy probably wasn't racing yet. It doesn't really seem like that long ago. (Guys my age tend to ramble a bit.)

I've always said take off all engine restrictions and let 'em go to town! It's not like they'll be coming out with a 2000hp machine or anything because they'll have to be able to control the thing, but a nice 900 or so hp would do wonders for the excitement level of the sport!

Of course, I'm also in favor of spicing up golf (they call it "golf" because "crap" was already taken) by rewriting the rules to make it tackle golf. That'd wake up those golf announcers!

"And Travino has a really long putt which he needs to make bird. . .WAIT A MINUTE! OH from behind TIGER WOODS with the tackle and Travino goes down HARD!"

Either that or make it so the first person that hits the ball into all 18 holes wins. . No matter how many strokes he took. . Speed is the only thing that counts here. Of course, for maximum speed, we'd need to modify the golfcarts. . .lesse. . .a turbo with 20 pounds of boost, offroad tires, and an F-1 suspension system oughta do the trick ;)

Or maybe we could have a new biathalon. Shooting and golf.

"With the putt, Tiger Woods. He's concentrating. . . *blam* Whoops, looks like Travino's still holding a grudge for that tackle back on hole 4. Tiger Woods, shot in the back at hole 9 when he was about to make par! This must be such a disappointment for such a promising player"

eh. Those are just my opinions of course ;)
