Herm. I wasn't even planning on replying to this post, since I have zero romance experience, but no matter.

I'm not voting for either #1 or #2, but rather bits of both. If my signifigant other said "I love you" to me every day and meant it, I'd be happy. If he says that every day then sees someone else behind my back, he's gone. Period.

This next part may not be relevant, but I'm going ahead anyway.

I saw a "Frasier" episode a while back where Frasier had a new girlfriend he was crazy about, and showered her with gifts. At the end he even sang a romantic song to her at a banquet. That moved me. I'm an introvert, pretty shy. I never was able to perform (much less even speak) in front of an audience, and I can't really understand how or why anybody else would want to. If *my* signifigant other humiliated himself in public like that for me, I'd be his.
