I've heard a bit about slightly different versions of movies for audiences outside the US. One other example that I can think of right off the bat was revealed to me on my family's DVD copy of Toy Story 2. (DVDs with extras rule.) I can't remember how many little changes were made, but they were very slight. The main one I remember was in the scene where Buzz is trying to inspire the other toys in the search party to keep movie, and he makes a 'patriotic' speech with the American flag behind him. In the international version, this was changed - I believe to having either generic dramatic color or an image of the world, I can't remember which.
