Ummm... I suspect that comes under the heading of lucky coincidence. I don't think there is any linguistic link between Gaelic and Latin. Until a few years ago it was believed that the Romans never managed to establish a toe-hold in Ireland.

I certainly wouldn't base a decision on that.
