I played Castlevania (no idea which one) back when we had a Sega Mega Drive. Was Simon the blond one with the cape? I don't remember the "AAAAUURGH!" but I did always think the rather pathetic way he folded up and slumped over on the ground when he got killed was quite heartrendingly tragic to watch.
