"Needless to say" is incessantly used by a man at my church.

A word that should be completely stricken from the English language is "utilize". It is so umbelievably overused and, in every single situation I've ever heard it said, can be replaced by "use". It is an idiotic non-word that, I'm convinced, is used mainly by people who want to sound smart or official or authoritative and don't realize it makes them sound like a know-nothing idiot.
