Heh. And that one parking spot is never where you need it. :) Apt description of the city by the bay. The public transportation up there is okay. I know this because not too long ago my family and I went and stayed up there for a week on a mini-vacation and we took public transportation the whole way. We had to drive about half an hour from our house to get to the BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit, kind of like a subway except it doesn't usually go underground) station, but once there it was an easy trip up to San Fransisco.

Within the city itself we used the Muni buses and occasionally the cable cars. Of course, the cable cars weren't and aren't all that useful, seeing as a.) they're limited to a single, not at all long compared to buses, route and b.) they're clogged with tourists who generally seem to want to hang off the sides, ring the bell, and yell "Rice-a-Roni! The San Fransisco Treat! Ding ding!" But hey, when you're at the bottom of Nob Hill and your hotel is at the top, and you can either walk up or take the cable car, you get pretty tolerant of tourists.

Sosi"Ghiradelli chocolate is the REAL San Fransisco Treat, anyway"qui
