That's a nice yarn, Sam, and very well told. There's always a good story around if people would just pay attention.

Lenoir City's version of your cycler was a man who walked up and down Broadway, day after day, laughing his head off. He never said anything, and if you spoke to him, he would just laugh. He never stopped laughing. His walk was a relaxed stroll and I never saw him more than a block from Broadway. I have no idea where he lived. One theory that I have heard is that he was a Korean War vet who suffered from shell shock, although I tend to think of that as a WWI thing. I haven't seen him in several years. I hope he is OK.
