I saw Jay Leno say something about something similar -- a popular phrase among Italians, I think, judging by the accent he used: "...and I don't mean that the baaad way."

"You IDIOT! ... and I don't mean that the baaad way."

Trav"doesn't watch much Leno/Letterman et al, because we get them a long time after they aired in the US. I've actually seen several reruns of Letterman shows some times... And the other day 'The Ten Most Fascinating People of 1999' was on one of our local TV channels..."holt.
