I mentioned that only because my herbs and spices book says, in passing, that lovage can be treated like angelica shoots. The Benedictine monks used the emerald-green angelica to flavor wines; and it is still an ingredient in vermouth, gin, and Chartreuse. The *other* popular use for angelica is to make it into a candy. I *was* going to say something about trying "candied angels" as well as candied lovage...
