Science is based upon the assumption that the way things are, they will be, and were. It assumes that the present is the key to the past and the future... and that the current observed laws proceed unbroken in either direction.

I've heard "scientific" analysis of the Bible... saying that we know can "prove" by science that it's wrong, based upon our understanding of the universe. But that's circular-science is assuming that the supernatural is impossible, and using their conclusions from there to debunk the supernatural.

Ultimately, I think it is a question of faith. Science can not prove that God exists, or that God doesn't exist. Any scientific conjecture has to be based upon something-you have to assume some rationality, and a certain immutable order to the universe to accomplish anything. In order to think and make conclusions completely free of assumptions you would have to think... nothing.

Personally, I think there's evidence of design in the universe. One of the US's leading DNA specialist agrees with me... he attributes it to aliens planting the seed for life. He thinks that our DNA is so complicated, it couldn't have occured naturally, it needed some outside "help" along the way. Of course, his answer just begs the question.
