I saw this on a documentary about Mr. Carnegie, of "How to Make Friends and Influence People", fame (c.1950). . .it said his name was pronounced "Car-neigh-gee". Something to do with wanted to refer to Mr. Carnegie, of Steel (1890's, monopolies, the whole deal), fame...but he didn't want to rip it off exactly.

I don't know how true that is. . .or whether my memories are false. . .
