I didn't know this, but apparently he died in MY city, and had been living here for about two years! I wish I had known this...for some reason it always makes a difference to me to know that a well-known person lives nearby. I love his books. An article in our paper says he gave a presentation at the university in April. If I had known he lived here, I might have heard about this and gone. I think it would have been a great experience.

Life is tough.
