The surveyor who surveyed my boat prior to purchase told me about Weird Things He's Found Inside Boats. Boat surveyors go around the hull tapping it with a little hammer for signs of rot (in wooden boats) or delamination or osmosis (in fibreglass boats like mine). He said once he hit what sounded like a *huge* hollow in a fibreglass hull.

When the hollow was drilled into, they found, glassed into the hull, the mangled remnants of two boxes of KFC, chicken bones, coleslaw and all. Some boatbuilder was just hurling fibreglass mat all *over* the place the day that hull was built. Yikes.
