Oh-oh. I didn't mean to scare you silly (You DID say you wanted to know?) Consider that if you haven't come down with it already, I don't think you really have to fear. Viral infections like hantavirus take their heaviest toll on people whose immune systems are already compromised. Prudence in avoiding possible future sources of infection is best, of course, since you can never know when your immune system will get challenged.

I knew someone who said he couldn't eat in restaurants, cafeterias, etc, because "all the food they serve is infected with salmonella" and that he ALWAYS gets very ill whenever he eats out. I'm guessing he actually has an immune hypersensitivity to camplyobacter instead, which is a bacteria found on nearly everything.
