> The commercial was a Hewlett-Packard commercial, for some new printer. There is a voice-over guy who describes what the printer can do, and goes on and on about its great features. At what SEEMS to be the end of the commercial, he finishes with "Well, it can do pretty much everything but... Mow the lawn!" Cut to a shot of a group of engineers. They look at each other. Cut to a shot of a box of parts being dumped on a table. You see the engineers tinkering for a bit, then get a shot of a computer monitor with a Windows-style interface. They select from one of the menus a new option: "Mow..." Cut to (and this scene is indescribably funny-- I won't do it justice here) a shot of the printer, with its full undercarrieage setup (so it sits about four feet tall) on wheels, bumping jerkily across a lawn, with grass flying out of the paper tray at the top. The catch-line at the end of the commercial (done in voice over and onscreen text) is "Hewlett Packard. Built by engineers... Used by normal people."

I agree, I've seen it. This ad is the BESTEST! My favorite part is how the speaker stands there with a total shocked look on his face. You hear his voice echoing "Mow the lawn--mow the lawn--" in his head. Then next scene, the engineers dump out the box of spare parts on the table and dig through it. you hear someone asking far in the background "Does it have to print while mowing?" (I always cracked up on that line). It finally cuts back to the speaker who is still looking at the TV audience with a totally shocked look, only now the HP printer is going back and forth behind him, mowing the lawn and spitting out grass from the paper tray!

HP gets my vote for best commercial ever. Maybe adcritic has it.
