Like, for example, Pern - even with assurance that I could be a dragonrider (which would rule), I'd have to go out every week and risk my life (which would not rule).

Advanced technology-fun, cool aliens with new cultures that fascinate me, advanced space-travel... and then, of course, since I'd HAVE to be an agent of the Temporal Security Agency, time travel. Time travel would rule so much. And to have going back in time and researching stuff be your JOB... that would just RULE beyond all things ruling.

I don't think I could choose. I've always wished I could go hopping from place to place and meet all my favorite book characters. But if I absolutely had to live somewhere forever instead of here... Probably Xanth. (Hides from the rabid Piers Anthony haters). It's not that it's the most interesting world, but there's magic, food and clothing everywhere for free, characters I care about(and a lot who I'd like to murder, because even I realize that Piers can really suck at times), and a guy with all the answers. Sounds good to me.
