I moved for the first time in 2nd grade when my house burned down...the washer and dryer blew up. Luckily, my family is full of carpeneters, painters, electricans and the such, and it got rebuilt and we moved back in in less than a year. Then some 6 years later, my mom gets a teaching job in Las Vegas. So here I am, a scared white kid from Shreveprt, La. and they take me to North Las Vegas. The inner city...with gangs. Eek. On my first day there, a kid got shot at the high school down the street. I wanted to run back home. But I eventually got used to it all. I lost 30 lbs. of babyfat, started getting better haircuts, and grew into the person I am today. If I had stayd in my hometown I would have become a drunk hillbilly like my realtives...I like this life better.
