I haven't read the books yet myself (but I intend to!), but to me this could work as a commentary to how the educational system works, at least here in Norway. It's full of really bad teachers who never should have been teachers at all. They either have no clue of what they're teaching, or they have no clue of how to teach it. The headmasters knows this, and is allowing it to happen.
