*sniff* I LIVED off of Sierra adventures when I was a kid... man, was I ever cheesed off when they got bought out and just pretty much slaugtered... even the last real 'adventure' game of theirs, King's Quest 8, was nothing but a glorified shoot-em-up that left me incredibly disappointed. (Some might like those kinds of game, but since I suck at them and I HATE things popping out at me, I don't care for them.) Little rant there...

Tall Poppy Syndrome is ALSO around in many online communities as well - like the one I used to be a part of. I happened to be one of the tall poppies, and although I never did anything spiteful, underhanded, etc, once my site was large and I was popular and a leader in the community, I was suddenly an evil person in the eyes of the jealous minority. The attacks were so cruel (even to putting up hate pages against me, no, I am not kidding) that I left the community forever. *sigh* I know how it feels... and it is SUCK.
