I don't understand just what it is about people that makes them so resistant to explaining these silly little in-jokes. I've got no such hang-ups, so I'll spill. GreenJeanz: Illuminati day is a celebration of Illuminati, the Greek god of mechanical devices.
Okay, let's get this straight now. When I was a kid we always celebrated Illuminati day on Feb. 30, not May 23. And he was a Roman god, not Greek. Most of the old gods are out of work now but Illuminati still haunts cars and motorboats. He is the one that make the outboard quit in the middle of the lake when a storm is brewing and it's getting dark. I think he was the one at fault when my '99 car conked out in Atlanta a few weeks ago. It was the starter switch which was labeled "Illum Inc. Rome, Georgia. (insert Twilight Zone theme here) It took the Toyota dealer all of one day and half of the next to find the problem. "We don't see very many of these with a manual shift," they said. Would I lie to you? Howard
