I can't believe no one called me on this. More people total voted for Gore! I pretty much said the opposite of what I thought--I haven't a clue how that came out.
I wonder if I can make a graph of what I'm talking about. No. I played with ASCII characters, but it looked too bad. Imagine a double bell curve. The one on the left is higher and thinner, the one on the right is flatter and broader. [Don't read 'good' or 'bad' into the following statements] Liberals are concentrated further from center than conservatives. There are more people on the right, but not enough to make a difference since the swinging center is more than large enough to make up the difference. If any candidate could receive votes from the half to two-thirds of the population that usually doesn't vote at all, we'd have to come up with a new demographic.
