What I usually do when I want one of my characters to swear (and I don't swear a whole lot, either) is I do the "Bob swore viciously when he hit his thumb with the hammer" thing.

But, the nice thing about fantasies is that you can make up swear words. " 'Cyxlrthl!' Bob exclaimed as he hit his thumb with the hammer." In one of my stories, I have one character who exclaims, "Gods above!" a few times. For the world, it's considered more impolite than out-and-out swearing. (Although he does get chastized for it.)
