The Supreme Court recently ruled that Missouri couldn't stop the Ku Klux Klan from adopting a highway in their statewide cleanup program because of the First Amendment rights to free speech.

(For the unfamiliar: if the Adopt-A-Highway bit is the same in Missouri as it is here in FL, the group that adopts it has to keep the roadsides clean of litter, and in exchange gets its name on "adopted by" signs placed every few miles along the road.)

Abhorrent as I find the Klan, I agree with this ruling. I support freedom of expression - let them adopt the highway and get their name on the signs.

But if I lived in Missouri, I would probably be dumping a lot of trash from my window right around there. Slimy, nasty trash.

No point in making it an easy job.
