I have no idea and it's really been bugging me for the past few years. Especially when you're thinking and you need to type. You think "One Hundred Dollars" but you need to type "$100". It's crazy crazy stuff. I think the was we type it is probably more efficient, because the person we're typing to knows that we're talking about dollars before we give them the number. Then again, every other unit I can think of comes after.. 100 chickens, 100 cents, 100 bags of wet mice... Anyways, to answer your question: *Shrug*
