Here's what I was thinking of: a series of on-line maps with little dots to represent all the Rinkers and their locations. The maps would be interactive, so that when you mouse over them, the person's on-line name (chat name, nickname, handle, whatever you want to call it) and location would pop up. If one clicked on someone's dot, it might pull up a profile on that person, with as much info as they wanted included in it.
There would be lots of little details to work out. I wouldn't want to put anyone on the map without their permission, of course. Some areas have higher concentrations of people than others, so we might have to do things like zoom-ins with those areas.
I can do the graphical work on something like this. One way someone else could help would be on the coding. I know very little HTML, and nothing about any variety of scripting, be it Java, CGI, or anything else.
Of course I could always just do the whole thing in Flash myself. If I had a copy of Flash, that is. At any rate, this is a project for the future, since right now I have neither the equipment nor the software necessary to do it.
