Real live quote from The Daily News: "...Sean (Puffy) Combs testified yesterday that when gunfire erupted inside the Club New York dance hall, he hit the floor believing he was being assassinated."
That relates somewhat to the other rap star gun slinger story of the week. Apparently, after rapper "Lil' Kim" left a radio station, there was a gunfight between members of her, um, posse and another rapper's posse.
Kim's song about Foxy Brown:
"This chick running around with this stink @#$% gap/ And them fake @#$% raps having panic attacks./ You ain't a star / And you record company know that ... Stop paying these @#$% to write y'all @#$% ... Better be careful what you say to me / That same @#$% you @#$% / I'mma make you sniff"
Lovely and poetic at once. Ms. Brown's musical retort?
"@#$%, you talk slick, @#$% is all that sneak @#$%?/ Y'all kill me with that subliminal @#$%/ @#$%, why you frontin' and kicking that street @#$%?/ Please impress me, go back to that freak @#$%/ Let's be truthful ... Could give a @#$% if you album pushed back!/ 'Cause when it hit the streets @#$%, it still weak/ It still sound lame and my name still reign."
Anyway. Now we've got two rap artists who probably won't be sending Christmas cards to each other. What I want to know is how one decides this should be resolved by shooting other people. "Hey -- there's some guys who hang out with the @#$% that said nasty things to our friend. Let's kill those @#$% @#$%." This is not rational thinking.
Just thought I'd throw that out there.
