Our plane was supposed to leave at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday the 21st. That morning it rained and we had to travel through rush hour traffic to get to the airport in Oakland. It wasn't going to be pretty. 5 minutes before our ride got there, United Airlines called to say that our flight had been cancelled and that another flight out of San Francisco could take us at noon. I said that was ok and realized that even with an extra 2 hours before the flight, we were going to have to brave a lot more traffic. Fortunately, our ride was going that way and we made it with tons of time.

We did what is required while waiting in an airport by eating overpriced food and buying magazines that you wouldn't ever read at home.

Because of the flight change, our hour layover in Chicago was now 3 hours so we passed the time with some more food and magazines.

Finally, we arrived in Manchester. It was now Thursday, local time, and our car rental counter was deserted. So, instead of going to another agency and paying for a car with our firstborn child, we caught a cab to the hotel. The next morning, our car was delivered to us and we were off and running around New Hampshire.

To be continued.
