LOL. I have read Tolkien, actually, and I liked his works quite a lot. ;) He's just not one of my absolute favorite authors, like the others I listed are. I read a LOT of books, and it was a struggle to narrow down the author list to something that wouldn't take over the entire post and put people to sleep! ;)
