>One thing I have discovered, is that there are a lot of people who are REALLY bad at listening to others. I know one family where they don't listen to each other at all, they all talk loudly and don't let each other finish sentences. It's like a competition to see who can get the most attention.
*Eeep* Sounds like my family (or at least my sister and me, which is 1/2 of the family, not including the pets). My mom has noticed this and told the rest of us about it, but I don't think it's stopped.
I have a few theories that are probably dead wrong. First, me and my sister's relationship changes from getting along great and joking to practically tearing each other's hair out (it's like we each have a switch marked I like You/I Don't Like You that some elfin creature is messing around with). Anyhoo, our Conversations/Talking Contests could be the result of sibling rivalry. Or whatever.
Second, We could just be self-centered and never care about what the other person's saying. That would account for a *lot* of arguments we've had.
Third, we think fast. And our voices can't really keep up, so we have to YELL everything out before it's gone.
Or not. Whatever.
Qua "blathering at 3 in the morning and trying to rationalize all the arguments she's caused with her sister" rtz ~~*Q*~~
PS: Me and my sister may argue, but I never really thought of it as sibling rivalry. Or do the people involved in that sort of thing usually realize it? Maybe me and my sister don't get along because we're so different (which we are). Whatever.
